Quick and healthy breakfast ideas
April 23, 2024
If you’re like me, breakfast is not your favourite meal of the day. Breakfast foods tend to be sweet, and although I appreciate sweet foods, I’d prefer savoury any day. But I think developing new non-sugary breakfast ideas every day is hard. I believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it’s important to be packed with lots of nutrients. That being said, here are some quick, delicious ideas that you can have for breakfast.
- A bowl of cereal – Some of my favourites are Cheerios, Reese’s Puffs and Corn Pops.
- Yogurt – Plain, mango, blueberry or strawberry are the way to go for me.
- A bowl of sliced fruits – Apples, grapes, oranges, strawberries and blueberries are great
- Oatmeal – Super simple and quick. Add some fresh fruits to this to start your day off feeling super refreshed. You can even buy already portioned packs of oatmeal from the store. All you need to do is add boiled water.
- Fried, boiled or scrambled eggs – Boiled eggs wrapped in bread with a little bit of hot sauce and feta cheese is my favourite. I also like to add fried onions and tomatoes to my fried egg. Feta cheese also tastes good here too.
- A glass of milk – To keep those bones strong throughout the day of course!
- Fruit smoothie – I like to look in my fridge to mix and match the fruits and veggies I have. A common smoothie I like to make is to add a cup of fresh spinach, 1-2 bananas (chopped), fresh or frozen strawberries, mangoes or any other berries, a hand of almonds and add milk (add and blend until your desired consistency is achieved).
- Cream cheese with honey on toast
- Nutella on toast (a classic)
- Avocado on toast
I hope this helps give you some quick breakfast ideas. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be referring to this list often!
