Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Spooky season playlist

October 29, 2020

Get your spook on by listening to some Halloween tunes while doing your homework or just laying on your bed. This playlist has variations of classic Halloween music from movies, from tv shows, and has modern spooky tunes as well. This versatile playlist will bring you back to the old times where you would be too scared to even watch a scary movie and maybe you still are. Ghosts, monsters, Frankenstein, and more will all come out to dance and sing along with you.

Thriller – Michael Jackson

A CLASSIC. If you haven’t already seen it, I’d recommend watching the music video.

Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr

The theme song from the one of a kind movie Ghostbusters.

Monster Mash – Bobby Pickett

Another classic song that will bring you back to the old days.

End Credits from Coraline – Bruno Coulais

Coraline is one of my favourite Halloween movies.

Stranger Things – Kyle Dixon

Yes, I know Stranger things isn’t a Halloween show but the theme song definitely gives me Demogorgon vibes.

Friends on the Other Side – Keith David

The Voodoo man’s song from The Princess and the Frog.

Spooky Scary Skeletons – Andrew Gold

Dancing skeletons? Can we get any more spooky?

Goosebumps Theme – Restrospectre

From the movie Goosebumps.

Ghost Duet & Ghost Choir – Louie Zong

These two songs will make you feel relaxed and are great studying songs.

My Family – Migos

This song gets me SO excited about Halloween and makes me want to party! (not this year though because COVID)

Addams Family Theme Song – Heathishuman

The theme song of the spookiest family we know.

bury a friend, bad guy, you should see me in a crown – Billie Eilish

Her songs may not be spooky but they definitely make you feel like it’s Halloween.

Come Little Children – Erutan

One of the creepiest songs you’ll ever listen to no doubt.

Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell

Another Halloween song to get you excited.

Monster – Michael Jackson

Another classic song from one of the best artists.

Calling All the Monsters – China Anne McClain

The song that shaped my Halloween as a kid!

The Monster – Eminem, Rihanna

A song to get excited about Halloween with.

Highway to Hell – AC/DC

Not a Halloween song but definitely helps to vibe with the season

Ghosts – Michael Jackson

Another MJ classic to listen to!

The Imperial March – John Williams

Star Wars. The perfect way to finish and wrap up a Halloween playlist.
