A letter to you, my Ontario Tech Friend

April 18, 2024

Hello!

How are you doing? Have you eaten today? You look lovely today, and I think your smile is so beautiful, keep smiling!

I wanted to talk to you about something important. No, it’s not about an assignment or anything academic. It’s about you. I so greatly appreciate your presence in my life. You hear it constantly, but you make a big difference in my life.

I can’t imagine life without you, and I am so, so, so grateful for your presence in my life. From the lectures to tutorials and those scary labs, you have been right there by my side as we sweated collectively.

The late nights spent doing work and your kind reminders are all sweet memories I cherish. I’m sorry for all those times; I would be on “DND” (do not disturb) because I was trying to focus, and I would miss your calls and messages, but that wouldn't stop you because you emailed me shortly after!

I am thankful to have had someone like you by my side to share my worries and fears with, and you so gracefully calmed me with your powerful words and sense of understanding.

I will never forget our jokes and giggles, which bounced off the walls of SHA and sometimes got us a glare or two from security guards walking through the library.

Thank you for holding my drink when I had to grab something from my backpack.

Thank you for bringing me the most random things when I needed them the most on short notice (paper, pencils, a milk cartoon).

Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.

This letter cannot do justice in conveying what a wonderful person you are. You are my friend, my family, and I hope our friendship continues to grow beyond the walls of Ontario Tech University.
