Why I Love Writing for Ridgeback Student Voices

January 27, 2025

Writing for Ridgeback Student Voices is more than a hobby or job—it’s something I truly enjoy. This platform has given me the chance to share my thoughts, dive into topics I care about, and connect with all you guys! Here’s why I’m so passionate about it (and why I hope you guys will enjoy it too)

1. Bringing Awareness to Important Topics

Ridgeback Student Voices has such a big and engaged audience (you guys!!), and that’s what makes writing here so exciting. It’s amazing to know that I can use this platform to bring attention to issues that matter, whether it’s raising awareness about mental health, tackling social topics, or sharing things that I think more people should know about. The idea that my words can make a difference? That’s what keeps me motivated.

2. Writing About What I’m Passionate About

One of the best parts of writing is being able to share things I truly care about. It doesn't even have to be something profound, heck I love writing about makeup, things to do with friends and shopping. But even if it’s silly it's like having a conversation with readers about the things that matter most to me—and that’s so rewarding.

3. Learning Through Research

Here’s a fun bonus: writing gives me a reason to research things I’ve always been curious about. Sometimes I come across a topic I’ve never really looked into before, and now I get to dive deep, learn about it, and share what I’ve found. It’s such a cool way to keep learning while doing something I love. Here are some of my favourite articles where I did that:

4. Sharing My Perspective

Writing feels personal to me. It’s not just about putting words on a page; it’s about sharing a little piece of myself. Whether I’m writing something light and fun or tackling a deeper topic, it’s my way of connecting with readers and starting conversations that matter.

5. Turning Ideas Into Impactful Articles

One of the things I love most about writing is taking a simple idea and turning it into something meaningful. Whether it’s starting with a small spark of inspiration or a random thought- like is TikTok making me more insecure?-, the process of crafting it into a story or article is so satisfying. It’s like creating something out of nothing—and knowing it can spark conversations or inspire others makes it even better.

Wrapping It Up

If you’ve ever thought about sharing your own ideas, I’d encourage you to consider joining the team or becoming an author. It’s an amazing way to express yourself, learn new things, and make an impact with your voice. Everyone has a story to tell—what’s yours? Let’s hear it!
