Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Starting off my list strong we have The Promised Neverland. This anime released in 2019 is a gripping one. You will not want to stop watching! I put this one first because it's a perfect anime to start off with if you are just getting into anime. The series is not too long and it's available to watch on Netflix in dub. So, if you're just dipping your feet into anime then this series is the one for you!

Synopsis: The anime follows a story of a group of orphans living in a seemingly perfect orphanage. Emma, Norman, and Ray are the brightest and most promising children in the orphanage, but their world is turned upside down when they discover a dark and sinister secret. Determined to uncover the truth and save their family, they embark on a dangerous journey.

This anime will keep you on the edge of your seat with its suspenseful plot, dynamic characters, and thought-provoking themes.

How could I miss this classic? Naruto holds a special place in my heart, and the emotional soundtracks never fail to make me feel nostalgic. There's no doubt that the original is always the best, and I often find myself returning to this anime whenever I need to relive my childhood memories. If you haven't watched Naruto yet, what are you waiting for? I know what you might be thinking- it's too long! (Well you should be happy that I am not recommending One Piece.) But don't worry, I've got a solution for you: use this website to skip the filler episodes and focus on the plot-filled ones. Trust me, you'll still get the full experience without wasting your time on the unnecessary parts.

Synopsis: This series follows the story of a young orphan boy named Naruto Uzumaki, who dreams of becoming the greatest ninja in his village. Despite being shunned by his fellow villagers and struggling to control a powerful force within him, Naruto refuses to give up on his dream. With the help of his friends and mentors, he embarks on a journey filled with challenges, battles, and self-discovery. Along the way, Naruto discovers the true meaning of friendship, love, and sacrifice, and learns to overcome his fears and weaknesses.

This anime will pull on your heartstrings and have you rooting for the underdog.

Now, we are getting to my top 3 of all time... But I must caution you, that these animes are so good that you may find it difficult to enjoy any other anime in the future, as nothing will ever quite match them. So, I'm sorry, but not sorry...

The main character, Lelouch, is so smart it blows my mind, there is never a dull moment in this anime. You have the perfect mix of action, romance, and fantasy. You will be left confused, not knowing which side is on the right... I cannot recommend this series enough!

Synopsis: In this anime, the Holy Britannian Empire has conquered and subjugated many nations, including Japan. Lelouch Lamperouge, a former prince of Britannia who was exiled to Japan as a child, becomes involved in a dangerous rebellion against the empire after gaining a mysterious power known as Geass. The show's unique approach to storytelling and its exploration of intense themes will leave you pondering whose side to choose... the bad guys or the good guys? Or is there even such a thing in this anime? This psychological thriller is a game-changer, and you will be unable to forget the intricate plans and strategies of both Light and "L”!
